Welcome
This site has been set up to share much of the material that was generated by the specialist midwives at the Oxford Breastfeeding Clinic, between 1991 and 2013.
The Clinic, a level 3 service provided within the John Radcliffe Maternity Hospital of the Oxford University Hospital Trust, began in 1991, when it was set up by Chloe Fisher.
Working alongside her from 1993 onwards was Sally Inch, who took over Chloe’s Infant Feeding Specialist post in 1997. The pair continued to work together to provide the service until 2013.* In this they were assisted by a succession of “volunteers”, without whose enthusiasm, dedication and expertise, the clinic could not have functioned.
(The current status of the service can be viewed at: www.ouh.nhs.uk/infantfeeding)
The OBC Legacy site also provides, from the tabs across the top, access to a variety of other resources that may be useful to those who are currently feeding their baby, and to those supporting them.
Some of these resources are already in the public domain but collected here for ease of access; others are available for the first time.
The site is a work in progress, and will be added to and modified over time.
